This time of the year can be very stressful, especially when we are waiting to hear about assignment changes. Some have known about their assignment changes for a few weeks. Is there a way that we can find out about them in a timely manner?
Not knowing, especially when there is change involved, is definitely a stressful time. Unfortunately, there are matters that are dependent on board approval and the budget, like non-renewals. In certain cases, there may be times when staff can be notified of change early, but more often than not, they have to wait until those involved are notified first. (I know I would rather be told first hand than to find out through a mass e-mail.) Another point of consideration is the May 15 deadline, when the administration is required by law to notify staff of their renewal. This means that sometimes staffing decisions may not be made until the May board meeting, depending on when it falls. The administration has assured us that they will notify us as quickly as they can.
When are they going to give us our budget /classroom order information to do our classroom order for next year? It would be great to work on them at our team meetings.
Once position changes have been announced, we will have a better idea of what we will need for next year. The business office also has to be prepared to process the orders. They are currently training Shari's replacement and expect that the instructions for ordering will be sent out to all staff by Friday, May 9th.
